His wife Victoria, once supportive, now is struggling to pay bills. She urges her stubborn and older husband to return to the magic field where Diijon was considered one of the greats. He refuses but does reluctantly agree to do a hypnotism nightclub act at Victoria's urging. The act goes bad and he's laughed off the stage. He's convinced this is the handiwork of Victoria's ex-lover Tony Holliday. Later, Diijon finds that he does indeed have the power to control men's minds and begins to take revenge on the people he felt made him look like a fool. He hypnotizes his young wife to kill the man. Unfortunately for Diijon, things go horribly wrong. Mr. Grodman was a respected superintendent at Scotland Yard until a mistake in an investigation caused the execution of an innocent man. He takes the blame and is dismissed, replaced by the obnoxious, gloating Buckley. Feeling vengeful, Grodman would like nothing more than to see Buckley look foolish on the job. His friend Victor Emmric, an artist with macabre tastes, wouldn't mind either and soon a mysterious murder occurs that may provide them with the chance. School-going Chandrabhan lives a poor lifestyle with his widowed mom in a small town in India, and has a childhood sweetheart named Lata, who is the daughter of the wealthy Deputy. Chandrabhan is heartbroken when Lata leaves town, and he has only a time-piece left with him as a token of their friendship. Years later, Chandrabhan has grown up, and has found employment in a guitar and musical instrument repair shop run by the owner and his friend, Prakash. Chandrabhan, a frequent reader of poetry, is fascinated by the poems of Renuka Devi, and longs to meet her. He does get to meet her, only to find out that the woman in reality is her friend, Basanti, who was impersonating her, as she had fallen in love with him, though he has no similar feelings for her. He does get to meet Renuka Devi, and is pleasantly surprised when he finds out that she is none other than Lata herself. Before Chandrabhan could plan anything else, he finds out that Prakash is getting engaged to Lata; Prakash's mother hates him; and he decides to return home along with his ailing mom. The question remains will Lata and Chandrabhan be re-united in this lifetime?
