This is a wonderful film! Shot on location in Singapore, it is the story of a Malaysian rebel, Sandokan, who, with his group of fanatic renegades, tries to thwart an evil British general from forcing the good king Hassim to resign in favor of the Imperial crown. I enjoyed this film quite a bit. The cinematography is lush, and the sets lavish. In one of my favorite scenes, a gang of rebels is attacked by bloodthirsty natives! Another scene finds a captive about to be fed to a hungry alligator. If you enjoy high-end historical adventure romances, this should whet your palate. arbara Stanwyck (in her last theatrical feature) stars with a wealthy woman who's terrorized by recurring dreams regarding her jealous, blind husband who supposedly burned to death in a recent fire. She tries to convince her attorney played by Robert Taylor (the real-life ex-husband of Stanwyck) that the nightmares are real. Exploitation king William Castle produced and directed from a screenplay by Robert Bloch ("Psycho"). The clues lead back many years to a single disastrously unsuccessful 1951 performance of a dreadful play written by the group's hammy director, H. Driffold Cosgood. Although at that time, several of the current cast members were only children, more murders follow before Miss Marple ultimately exposes the killer. Two young men come from a country village to Seoul with an aspiration to become actors. But their immediate challenge is to get food. They try to find a job, but all the classified ads say 'Women Only.' As a last resort, they decide to disguise themselves as women. The two are accepted by a female Korean classical opera. And they go through all kinds of adventures, trying to hide their true gender.
